outlook on life Explanation: i.e. how we see life. "Horizonte" is often used in the sense of the "future", i.e. "un plan con un horizonte de 2 años" is a plan for the next 2 years, but here it seems to be used more like "perspectiva", our outlook, the way we see life. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2010-12-31 10:05:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I found a reference to Ortega and "outlook on life" but am not sure how close it comes to your context: http://books.google.es/books?id=iGONF4dUwOwC&pg=PA407&lpg=PA... |

vital perspective Explanation: appears in some essays on Ortega y Gassett (see first link). However, the second link below by Ortega himself (translated) gives an idea of what he meant by "horizonte vital" (using his own term, "horizon"), which is highly individual - for that matter, the doubt arises whether the term should be translated at all, if the essay is to explain that point of view (just as Nietzsche was not translated when he first said "Weltanschauung", and the expression passed unaltered into the English language).
