- Seychelles

I've been dreaming of going to the Seychelles
ever since I heard this name mentioned for the first time
(in a geography lesson at school).

I thought... a place with such a lovely sounding name (Seszele in Polish, can't find a way to give you the API transcription for this here in this forum, so just take my word for it - it sounds great and irresistibly exotic) has to be absolutely purrrrr-fect.

Still hoping I'd get there some day. Although the place is far from cheap.
Meow!

My 3 May 28, 2007

I love travelling... and my dream destinations keep changing. Anyways, places that I'd like to visit (and have not visited in past) include:

Cambodia
Meghalaya, India
Konark, India

and a fourth one,
Ganga Sagar, India

I've lived near Ganga Sagar, Konark and Meghalaya but somehow I never had the opportunity to visit these places.

When I was living in Assam and West Bengal holidays meant visiting North India (Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Haryana etc.) as most of our relatives live in this region. And no, I've not been to Wagha Border (Punjab, India) either.

My choice May 28, 2007

1. New Zealand (will definitely go there within the next few of years, before leaving Singapore for good!)

2. Spain, especially the Basque Country (I absolutely adore the Spanish culture and languages, have been there once - in Cataluna - but would like to travel through all of the provinces).

3. Bavaria, Germany

Other countries on the list would be Georgia, Poland, Scotland, Scandinavia.

Tough choice May 28, 2007

Wow..... that's tough, okay here I go with my choice (I have "cheated"a bit by doing the combo destinations):

1) New Zealand (in combo with Australia)

2) Peru' (in combo with both Chilean and Argentine Patagonia down to the Tierra del Fuego)

3) Hawaii (esp. Maui and Kauai)

Number 4: Easter Island (magic, eerie place; almost tie with Hawaii)
Number 5: Mexico & Guatemala (for their amazing archaeological heritage)

Enough

What part of Italy are you from Francesca? I'm Australian and working in Rome.

Good day.

Robert

Hi Robert, I am originally from Milan but now I moved to Cremona, land of salame and torrone (and stradivari violins, but they are not edible..) hmm..
That's a pretty little city on the river Po. Very quiet, nothing to do with the chaos of Milan. The city center is very old and charming..Definately a nice city to see! And not at all expensive.

I've been to Melbourne some years ago, beautiful city. Where in Australia are you from? I have a friend from Melbourne that I had met yers before in Dublin, and I remember she told me in Australia everything is huge and possibly dangerous..She made me laugh cos she was saying: "you go in the water and you have jellyfish and sharks..you stay on the land and you have snakes and giant spiders.." she was honestly scared. I did not imagine how huge spiders can atually be until I saw one strolling by her house..hmm..
But still I would get back. I could pat a baby wombat, so cute! But I'd like to hug a koala..

Can't we add Australia to the group buy??

Fra

I made a giant circle around the world for almost three years May 28, 2007

China (Silk Road)
Egypt (Pyramid)
and...

Now the following places are where I want to return!
Argentina (Nogoya)
Ecuador (Islas Galapagos)
USA (San Francisco)

Does anyone know where Nogoya is?

I took a nap with iguanas at Galapagos!

When I was in San Francisco, I was looking for "I left my heart in San Francisco" so I went to a record shop downtown but I did not know the title of the record so I

3 places May 28, 2007

I couldn't possibly nominate countries, let alone continents. Even whole cities are too big to get to know without living there for a while.
My top three:
Samarkand
Timbuktu
Lipari

my top 3 May 28, 2007

It is so hard to choose only 3, I have a very long list and travelling definitely is one of my favourite occupations.

- South America (especially Macchu Picchu and Iguassu waterfalls)
- Russia (St Petersburg and Moscow)
- Asia (I have never been to Asia, so it is hard to choose a destination in particular, maybe China, Japan or India)

Another vote for New Zealand May 28, 2007

1) New Zealand - ever since I had a very enthusiastic geography teacher in the first year at secondary school, and topped up recently by "The Lord of the Rings" of course

2) South Africa - especially to see the fantastic flowers and plants

3) Canada - preferably in the snow!
