Bio

I am experienced mostly in translating automotive content, specifically in the truck industry. I have also translated general and religious material.

I first stepped into translation and interpretation as a volunteer while still in college. I helped to create curriculum for and teach newly developed Spanish Driver's Education class for the YWCA Intercultural Service Center in Tulsa, and later the same year served as informal interpreter with Higher Dimensions Evangelistic Center while on a missions trip to Monterrey, Mexico. I have done internal translations while a mechanical engineering student intern at the The Timken Company and Cummins, Inc. In college, I took 20 hours of university translation courses and earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1998, and started with Navistar, Inc. in 1999. I have traveled to Mexico several times for Navistar, where I sometimes have helped with translation and interpretation in the course of doing engineering support of truck pilot builds. I have done internal translations for the company, and in 2008 became Global Publications and Translation Manager in the service information and tools group. I initiated the Organization of Latino Employees (OLE) at Navistar, and have been the first Spokesperson of the organization, which has included encouraging and supporting language learning of employees and facilitating communications with Spanish-speaking potential customers.
