Now's the time to sign up for our annual informal meetup of translators/interpreters and translation agencies' representatives. A great opportunity to meet and connect with fellow colleagues to share experiences and enjoy a little time away from the computer screen!
The agenda is not fully determined yet and opened to your suggestions: if anyone wants to talk on some specific translation or interpreting-related topic, please let me know! So far we have the following:
- First and foremost celebration of the International Translator's Day in warm atmosphere among your friends and colleagues with some drinking, talking, etc.
- A question and answer session: any of you can ask a question and the others can then answer or discuss the subject. This was a successful idea on the previous occasions where it was tried.
- General networking.
- Verification of ProZ.com members (a rare chance to become a verified member).*
Accommodation for those coming from other places: I have 3 sleeping berths and thus can accommodate 3 people at my own apartment. If there are other colleagues from Vilnius who can accommodate people please let me know. Guests can also stay at an inexpensive hostel or hotel.
So, guys everybody is invited (including representatives of translation agencies). Those who will come please sign up now on this powwow page and DON'T FORGET to change your attendance status to "yes" or "maybe" in the right-hand column of the attendance table (see below) right after you sign up. You can always change it later (including to "no") if your plans change. This is very helpful when planning the event - I should know how many people will actually come. Please also note that the venue is limited to 27 places therefore don't postpone your registration if you really want to take part in this gathering.
If you've got any questions please don't hesitate to contact me via email or Skype (preferable). My mobile phone: +370 (687) 49 194.
Hope to see you soon at our Gathering!
* In order to be verified you should present your identity document having a photograph.

One more Vilnius Gathering took its place. There were 9 colleagues this time and most of them were newcomers. There was nice warm atmosphere as it usually is at our meetings. Thank you all, folks!
P.S. Have a look at the picture gallery!

P.P.S. I have completed the online attendance sheet and all the attendees will receive 200 BrowniZ which contribute to a member's standing in the directory - if two members have the same number of KudoZ points, the one with more browniz is shown first. It's quite obvious that those who had only signed up for the powwow but didn't actually come will receive nothing... Sorry. ▲ Collapse
