From orders of the KOP, dated 1935: "Udzieliłem urlopów wysoczynkowego por. Trendowskiemu Michałowi z komp. km.od dnia 30.X. do dnia 26.XI.1935. r." I understand that the commanding officer was granting a leave to Lieut. Trendowski, but I'm not sure what unit he was attached to. "komp." certainly stands for "kompania," but what kind of company?

: km = karabin maszynowy = machine gun. Yet, it's "company", not "troops".

Discussion
the pre-WW2 Polish grammar accepted the period in "km." abbreviation inside a sentence, but at present it would be considered an error.
