Norwegian term
avh av dagen
Norwegian to English
Medical
Medical (general)
leg pain following surgery
Difficult to put into an exact field and I'm not sure whether it should be pro or non-pro, but I'm doing patient notes that are full of both abbreviations and shortened form of words where the person writing has just not written out complete words at times. Medication has been used for pain following surgery and I can't think of what the shortened word or acronym "avh" means. The words "av dagen" are supplied in the question purely for context.
... er bedre, men **avh** av dagen, hun tr sm videre (presumably: gradually feels pain again).
Can anyone suggest what "avh" is short for please - Norwegian word(s) and the English to satisfy the rules of placing this in the Norwegian-English category?
Would be grateful.

er bedre, men **avh** av dagen, hun tr sm videre =
er bedre, men avhenger av dagen, hun trenger smertestillende videre
"avhenger av dagen" betyr at hvor mye bedre hun føler seg varierer fra dag til dag.
