letters of the great Rabbis
Igrot means letters. The collection of letters or correspondence of Rabbis is called igrot, for example Igrot Moshe are the letters of Rav Moshe Feinstein z"l. Gedolim is a term for respected rabbinical authorities.

Studies in the Correspondences of leading Rabbis
not literal, but an appropriate course title

Moshe Devere
: "Igrot" are not always letters or correspondence. Mostly they are responsa to questions in Halacha; e.g., Igrot haRambam - Maimodes' Letters; Igrot Moshe mentioned, are responsa. "Igeret haRamban" is a published ethical guide by Nachmanides to his son.

Moshe, Igrot HaRambam are not responsa. They are his correspondences with other communities. Teshuvot HaRambam are his responsa, and in general Teshuvot are distinguished from Igrot in this way.

Discussion
But if I were to venture an answer, I would say "The Great Epistles".
