English term

Asia Pacific

English to Hindi Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
This is an unusual request. A friend of mine is writing a short story and in it there comes a ship called "Asia Pacific". Some of the sailors in the ship are original from India and he would like to know what would be the Hindi name for the ship.

Thanks in advance!
Maria :)

Asia PrashAnt

It is advisable to transliterate the name of ship as suggested hereinabove BUT if you still want its translation, it may be translated in the abovementioned manner.

We have got Pacific Ocean which is translated as PrashAnt MahAsAgar and the above term has been coined on similar lines.

Asia Pacific

It's a proper noun. Thus would not change. But if you wish to see how it's transliterated in Hindi : एशिया पैसिफिक is how it would look.

Hope that helped.

PrashAnt asia

the literary sense of asia pacific is a combination of sea and continent. the hindi meaning of 'prashant' is 'calm'.Asia Prashant is correct literary but Prashant Asia has a greater meaning i.e.'peaceful asia'.

no doubt, this is the beautification of a name and the asians always try to beautify their name, so for the ship, naturally.
