The thru-pin in the tool pull-up shaft used for thru-spindle coolant is a consumable part. Replace the thru-pin every 10 months (or 180,000 ATC operations, whichever comes earlier). If the seal at the tip of the thru-pin wears, coolant may leak. The seal life varies depending on the machining conditions, coolant type, etc. If the coolant leaks before the above time limit is reached, stop using the thru-spindle coolant and replace the thru-pin.
