What I'm not sure about here is the use of 'recogiéndose' in this context, particularly in relation to 'normativas'. The references that go with this are health guidelines on smoking cessation, and I am inclined to think that they mean that the data (from other studies) is utilized in various guidelines.

I wouldn’t say “fact\", as other colleagues propose. If this were the author’s intention, he would have used “hecho” instead of “dato”.
When talking about information of any kind, “recoger” means to appear, mention, use, take.
