Hi,
This is a Cytology and Bacterial Culture report. The sample is pleural fluid.
In the section describing the method used, I have the following:
"Identification: Spectrométrie de masse (Bruker)/Biochimique (Vitek)/Chromogénique - PTU - Laborizon Maine Anjou"
Would anyone know what PTU stands for in this context?

Hi everyone, Thank you for all your help. I have finally included a translator note with the different suggestions for the agency explaining that it was impossible to determine the meaning of this acronym without more context. I haven't heard back from them but I will keep you posted.

Just to complicate matters, you'll find laboratoires d'analyses referring to their PTUs (plateau technique unique or plateau technique d'urgence) as well as PTCs (plateau technique centralisé).

@Joanna - My worry would be that it says "L’unité analytique Protéine/PTU" rather than "L’unité analytique Protéine (PTU)" and I don't know why it wouldn't be e.g. UAP rather than PTU. I can't find any sources where PTU is spelled out in full. I do think, though, that it is a department/unit/lab rather than a test going by the context and the Biogroup link.
