Hi colleagues,
I'm a little stuck with this one. This appears as an assessment of a patient and used like this: Tubenbelüftungsstörung bei Dreimandelhyperplasie.
Is it just tonsillar hyperplasia? What does the 'drei' refer to?
Thanks for your help.

hyperplasia of pharyngeal and palatine tonsils
A pair of palatine tonsils and a single pharyngeal tonsil = 3 tonsils. These are the most relevant tonsils in syndromes of chronic lymphoid tissue hyperplasia.

: Yields zero hits on big G, nor does 'triple tonsillar hypertrophy', 'triple tonsil hypertrophy', 'triple tonsillar hyperplasia' in any combination of the corresponding terms... Hidden and unpublished ENT speak, perhaps...?

: An irrefutable reference :-)) And "Dreimandelhyperplasie" has only 1 G-hit either.
