RHA + BD doloroso a la palpacion en HCD

Spanish to English Medical Medical: Health Care Peruvian emergency room report
I'm working on a Emergency Room Hospital Report, and I'm working on the initial diagnosis:

REGULAR ESTADO GENERAL, QUEJUMBROZA, PALIDEZ,
TYP MV PASA POR AHT NO RALES
CV RCR BI NO SOPLOS
ABD RHA+ BD DOLOROSO A LA PALPACION EN HCD, MURPHY+

I was able to confirm all the acronyms except for "BD". Abdomine soft and tender, right hypochondrium, bowel sounds...but the "BD" eludes me.

As always, a thousand thanks!

I stand corrected, philgoddard... Thanks for the spelling correction on "abdomine".
Joseph Tein Sep 26, 2023:
@Hernan Good suggestion, Hernan. I think this probably is the right expansion in this context. (See previous KudoZ entry for example: https://www2.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/medical/55030...
philgoddard Sep 26, 2023:
Abdomen Not abdomine.
Hernan Casasbuenas Sep 26, 2023:
RHA+ Ruidos hidroaéreos Ruidos hidroaéreos aumentados. Blando depresible
Hernan Casasbuenas Sep 26, 2023:
Blando depresible A normal abdomen is usually soft and depresible

soft without distension

Normal bowel sounds. Abdomen soft, without distension. Right upper quadrant (RUQ) pain on palpation. Positive Murphy's sign.

Thanks. "Upper right abdominal tenderness" would just be another way of saying "RUQ pain"

Abdomen soft, supple and tender to palpation in the right upper quadrant

HCD= right hypochondium to be exact, but in EN, we usually say "right upper quadrant".

You'd say "tender" to (or "on") palpation rather than "painful".
Peer comment(s):

neutral liz askew : RHA = bowel sounds

sorry, I have got waylaid

it should be "blando/depresible, not "doloroso"!!

so, again

abdomen: bowel sounds present, soft, depressible, tender to palpation of the right hypochondrium

think I've got it now!

RAE

depresible

Del lat. depressus, part. pas. de deprimĕre 'apretar hacia abajo, hundir', e -ible.

1. adj. Med. Dicho de una parte del cuerpo: Que no presenta resistencia a la presión.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Chema Nieto Castañón : Hi liz. When there is no distension there is no resistance to pressure (unless you palpate a mass). "Without distension" is just another way of conveying the same idea: "depresible". "Depressible" is just something you won't find on an English med report.

Tienes razón, debe ser blando y depresible, que también está en la lista
