I am translating a doctor's note from Venezuela pertaining to a routine checkup. Under the section "Tórax" It says "Simétrico, elástico, lupoexpansible." The handwriting is difficult to read, but I'm 95% sure it says lupoexpansible. If not, it may say "lipoexpansible," but I haven't been able to find either term anywhere.

Lo que sucede es que el doctor ha separado las sílabas de la palabra y no le colocó la tilde que lleva la letra "i". La letra h está asociada a la "i" pero escrita de manera rápida, y por eso pareciera que fuera una "u". Eso siempre pasa con la terminología médica.

There aren't many references for 'hypoextensible' and I'm inclined to think that 'stiff' could be a reasonable translation.

There is a tendency for spastic muscles to shorten, which will cause one aspect of the deformity (Tardieu et al. 1982; Dietz & Berger 1983; Huf-schmidt & Mauritz 1985; Cosgrove 2000). Shortening hypertonic (‘hypoextensible’) muscles pull the joints into abnormal motor patterns involving the whole child or at least of the whole limb.
