Spanish term

"Tienen jugadores de muy buen pide"

Homework / test Spanish to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation football (soccer)
I'm translating a newspaper article for a class in my M.A. translation program, and in this article (which has a target audience of North American English speakers for translation purposes), the coach of a Mexican football club (who is from Argentina) refers to another team's players with the following comment: "Tienen jugadores de muy buen pide." I have never encountered the phrase "buen pide" but a couple of my co-L1 classmates (who speak both English and Puerto Rican Spanish as native languages) suggested that perhaps this phrase either transmits the idea that the players are "well-regarded" or "in demand," or else it may be a typo that should've read "buen pie" instead (which DeepL renders as simply "they have very good players" using the clause "tienen jugadores de muy buen pie"). I couldn't find anything even remotely meaningful with "buen pide" in my own searching, so my professor has suggested that I request well-informed opinions here on ProZ. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

"Some of their players have been demanded."

They could be skilled footballers of such a high standard that football club managers could have sought them or demanded them to be transferred to another team.

Note:
'pide' (he or she requests)
'de muy bien pide' (of good demand, order or request)
'pedir' (to request or to ask for)
