Hmmm, never seen this in Czech and this context but it sounds like an acceptable workaround, whatever it really is.
Hannah Geiger (X) Aug 11, 2020:
Thomas Due to lack of context, I thought this might have been related to tracheal aspiration. Since such is not the case, I am going to erase my answer so that there is no confusion for potential readers. Thanks!
Thomas Dolina (asker) Aug 11, 2020:
Martin, in this context STP appears as part of a report for bone marrow aspiration for acute myeloid leukemia. I did some more research and determined that Standard Test(ing) Procedure is most likely to be what STP stands for.
Martin Janda Aug 5, 2020:
Thomas... Can we get more context please?

standard puncture

STP - standardní punkce (normally written in English as the "standard puncture and aspiration" method)
"Bone marrow was collected from the iliac crest as described previously (Brennan et al., 2014), by standard puncture and aspiration into heparinized syringes"
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7137087/

This abbreviation may appear on request notes for bone marrow cytology examinations along with TREP (= trephine biopsy)
https://www.fnhk.cz/fs3412/zadankakostni-dren.pdf

"For the bone marrow aspiration, a thin needle is used to remove a sample of fluid (aspirate) from the bone marrow – usually from the pelvic bone, but sometimes from the chest. A trephine biopsy, sometimes done with a second needle, removes a small piece of bone with the marrow inside."
