Spanish term

Órgano

Spanish to English Medical Other Pathology
The following appears in a for prostate pathology report:

DATOS CLÍNICOS
A: dlb. B: dmb. C: dlb/m. D. dlm. E. dma. F: dla. G. ilb. H. imb. I. lib/m. J. ilm. K. ima. L. ila. M. sd. N. si.

Órgano:
A B Cilindro (punch, BAAG, tru-cut) próstata.
B B Cilindro (punch, BAAG, tru-cut) próstata.
C B Cilindro (punch, BAAG, tru-cut) próstata.
(and so on for D to N).

This appears at the start of the report, befire the gross examination.

Can anyone help with the translation of "Órgano" in this context. I have considered "Organ" which does not appear to fit. I have also considered "Specimen".

Cheers,
John.

tissue sample

I can understand why you would be reluctant to use 'organ'. Even though technically the prostate IS an organ (all glands are organs), it is usually referred to as a gland.

I think tissue sample might work here.
