Spanish term

que siempre quisieron notar el aliento

Spanish to English Art/Literary Other novel
I'm sorry I can't give a lot of context as I just have a short extract from a novel to translate. It's quite difficult without knowing what the whole thing is about. This is the paragraph which it appears in:

Thanks

that always longed to feel warm breath

...eyes looking from afar that always longed to feel warm breath/to feel the warmth of breath.

It would better if you knew who the 'aliento' belonged to and you could add a pronoun (feel his warm breath/feel the warmth of my breath).

One definition of 'aliento' is the air a person exhales when they breathe.

faraway glances forever yearning for encouragement

almost literal translation
Forever could also be always
Encouragement could be support

distant (discreet) looks invariably longing to be (close to me)

showing a desire to be close to me
sending a speechless invitation to be next to me

the looks from afar which never felt the warm breath of encouragement they desired

I have expanded this a little to try and include all the meaning encapsulated in the source.
