In this instance, it's used in the phrase "mejor tapa de cuchara" and "mejor tapa de cuchara y tenedor" (prizes)

However, I've often seen "plato de cuchara" or "guiso de cuchara" used to describe dishes. In these cases, I have often used "stew" but that doesn't really seem to work in this case. I had considered something like "best soup/stew tapa" but as the dish in question is probably something served in a cazuela, I'm not entirely happy with this option. Then there is the issue of what to do with the tenedor (see other question posted at the same time).

The only other thing I can think of is "spoon-based dish" but I feel that quite frankly, it sounds like crap.
