I'm looking for a nice concise phrase here to capture the idea of twigs, leaves, dirt etc. Can anyone suggest anything better than "debris from the fields" or would it be acceptable just to say "twigs, leaves, dirt etc"?

I'm not sure such specificity is necessary considering it is already established that we're dealing with items related to cleaning fruit
it would seem understood that this refers to said "twigs, leaves, dirt, etc." by anyone familiar in any way with this field of work and process
