lymphatic and venous systems

I am unable to find anything with "lymphatic and venous circulatory system/s"; in fact "circulatory system" tends to be used as such.

Most medical sites seem to refer to either the lymphatic system or the venous system, or arterial system

hence my contribution

Three sets of vessels comprise the circulatory system: arteries, lymphatics, and veins. Arteries bring oxygen-carrying blood from the heart to the tissues. In the normal course of blood circulation, small amounts of fluid and protein leak from arteries and veins. Lymphatic vessels bring this protein-rich fluid back into the circulation. The third type of blood vessel is the vein.

lymphatic and venous system

"Linfo-venoso" refers to the two systems, the lymphatic and the venous system, as a whole. So it cannot be translated as only "lymphatic" system, you have to include both in the translation.
Example sentence:

The principal function of the lymphatic and venous system is to maintain a favorable environment for cells of the body.

Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : Systems in the plural, I would have thought.

Thanks! I also thought of it, but while they're independent systems, some texts appear to treat them as two parts of a single system - and the text in the original post, with "sistema linfo-venoso" in the singular, suggests so as well.

lymphatic system

Lymphatic system is the system that circulates lymph throughout the body. One of the references I am posting mentions it in context of Kinesio Taping (in your document).

I agree with the other posters it is more accurate to include "venous" in a translation of this term.

lymphatic and venous systems

Keeping in mind this part: "Objetivos Secundarios del tratamiento: tratar las patologías que afectan al sistema circulatorio linfo-venoso. ", I agree that both systems should be kept in translation. This is because the lymphatic system takes care of that part of the blood that wasn't able to make it to the venules (small veins) after gas exchange that took place in the capillaries. And this blood is then trapped "in the middle of nowhere", and thus the important role of the lymphatic system. So in the context of this quote and this kind of therapy, it is important to highlight both systems. I hope you can understand what I mean.

venous lymphatic system or venous-lymphatic circulation is more common usage.
