Resonancia magnetica - MRI scan
I am translating an interpretation of an MRI of the brain, from Spanish to English. The Subject line reads:
"..... R.M.DE CRANEO CONTRASTADA - apna
ESTUDIO: R.M. SIMPLE Y CON MEDIO DE CONTRASTE DE CRANEO . "
The study is done both with and without gadolinium.
The conclusion states:
"Lo referido a la sustancia blanca de ambos hemisferios correlaciona fdon multiples zonas de gliosis ......... 2. Espacio perivascular amplio hacia los ganglios de la base en el lado izquierdo. 3.- Pequeño quiste de retencion enseno maxilar izq. 4. Inclusion dentaria...... 5. Desviacion del septo nasal..... "
I have no idea what the "apna" refers to, unless it is an acronym for the contrast agent. Can someone help me out? Thanks.

I agree that it is probably a typo for apnea. However, as the context is not the disorder, I think "breath-hold" probably more accurate in this case.
