questioning of a child witness
It is not clear whether this "exploración" refers to the taking of evidence from the witness during a police investigation or as part of court proceedings. Either way, in UK language "questioning" is the word to use. This minor is a witness and not a defendant (presumably he or she is a prosecution witness in the abduction case, probably the alleged victim).
In a trial, the questioning of a witness is the whole process of taking evidence from that witness, including examination-in-chief, cross-examination and re-examination, if any:

As for "testigo menor de edad", the UK term is "child witness":

In UK legal language, as I have said, "testigo menor de edad" is "child witness". What is less clear is whether "questioning" is the right word here. You say in the discussion area that this is the title of the daughter's statement. If this refers to a witness statement to the police, that would normally be called a "declaración" in Spanish. If so, the appropriate translation would be "statement of child witness". But "exploración", or "questioning", is a different thing: that would be a record of the questions the witness was asked and the answers she gave, and could be headed "questioning of child witness".
Here is a comment from a Spanish law blog relating to this point:
"A ver, un segundin. Susanoide Gr solo dice que la policia le tomó declaracion a la menor (diligencia de toma de declaracion). Eso lo suele hacer bastante la policia, pero no tiene nada que ver con una exploracion forense."

In the juvenile justice system in Spain, the terminology used is not the same as is used in ordinary criminal proceedings involving adults. Although, as I indicated in my comment to Mike, "exploración del menor" might also be translated in the context of an "exhorto" as "taking of testimony," in this specific case I assume that the minor in question is probably a criminal suspect ("imputado"), since he is being asked to come to court with his lawyer ("representante legal"). In Spanish criminal procedure, persons summoned to court to be deposed as witnesses ("en calidad de testigo") are not asked to bring a lawyer. In contrast, persons who give testimony "en calidad de imputado" are asked to do so in the presence of their lawyer. If you have the text of the "exhorto" you will be able to verify which situation refers to this specific case.
