Spanish term

Títulos, Convalidaciones y Homologaciones

Spanish to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy Degrees
This is the name of Dept. in the Spanish Ministry of Education. No problems with the first one, which is Degrees, but I'm not sure about the other two. Could it be "Validations" and "Recognitions" or "Qualifications Approval". I've seen all of these but right now cannot find the right terms. TIA for your help.

Diplomas and other certificates relating to professional qualifications are certified by the General Section for Diplomas, Recognitions and Official Approvals (Subdirección General de Títulos, Convalidaciones y Homologaciones) of the Ministry of Education and Universities and the Ministry of Foreign affairs and Cooperation. However, if a diploma or certificate is executed by Autonomous Communities, the competent authority is designated in separate regulations followed by the Ministry of Foreign affairs and Cooperation.

The division for evaluation of foreign academic degrees

Not a word for word translation but I think it conveys the meaning.

"the Spanish equivalent of NARIC"

My suggestion is give its official Spanish name and gloss this as "the Spanish equivalent of NARIC". Because degree evaluation and cross-validation is done by this quango in the UK:

"The National Recognition Information Centre for the United Kingdom (UK NARIC), is the National Agency providing the only official source of comparison information and advice on international education and training systems and overseas skills and qualifications.

UK NARIC provides a service whereby qualifications from outside the UK are compared to the UK's qualification frameworks."

http://www.naric.org.uk/index.asp?page=1

We don't have an equivalent within the Education Department itself - it's all done by NARIC.

I taught foreign students until recently and used to have to consult or refer them to NARIC all the time.

Hope this helps, María.
