: this is Spanglish - "reconocer" means to accept, not recognise

'Scuse me? If my answer were in bad Spanish it could qualify as "Spanglish", however it is in good English, and "recognition" of expenses is a usual phrase. That's in the USA of course. If it's meant for other audiences, then it should be so stated.
