Jun 26, 2006 11:54: PB Trans changed "Language pair" from "Italian to English" to "Spanish to English" , "Field" from "Art/Literary" to "Other" , "Field (specific)" from "Poetry & Literature" to "Sports / Fitness / Recreation"
When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

I don't speak Spanish; the only references I've found on the Internet (Google.es) so far for "Mondo Folbo" are the same as mine, but if you search only "folbo", you can find this one, related to football:

dear asker, apparently you didn't understand a single word of the KudoZ rules, and your English isn't that good either.
You should have graded Pina's answer. I'm leaving the site, so I will not have the time to contact a moderator. Pina, I'm really sorry, the right answer is yours: I don't want KudoZ points I don't deserve.

: The publishing house is called Folbo/Fol-bo but not Folbo Mondo. The google hits in Italian are for "animali nel mondo" and then "folbo" (as the publisher) comes afterwards: http://tinyurl.com/pyz8t See this ebay listing: http://tinyurl.com/mte8

I answered before the asker provided the full context, so it was easy to misunderstand, besides, it was given as a IT>EN question

you posted the whole text AFTER my answer. Then, I know for sure you can't have two "identities", nor post comments (like Pina said). Grade her answer, and be more careful next time

whole text
Thanks and sorry for your enthusiastic achievement.
But as I wrote, "Mondo Folbo" is whole text.
If I didn't put this here before you, you could never put your comment. And it's nothing matter if "before" or "after" for me, because it's my topic.
I am a guest user until end of this month, just log in here from the address from KudoZ mails, not double users.
Will you mind answering, if you don't know the answer. And it's quite ok even if you don't have to search sites for the comment. I'm afraid that uncertain answer would make it complicated like this, only for two words. Nevertheless I appriciate your effort.
Allow me to write this in answering form, and hope this Q is closed anymore for that problem's been occored is not my intention.

To be 100% sure I suggest you post the same question (the two words) in Brazilian Portuguese, explaining it's imbedded in a Spanish text.

Also, since you say this is a conversation, is it possible that whoever did the transcript misheard "mondo folbo"?

I happened to be emailing a friend who lives in Argentina and asked her about "mondo folbo". This is what she said:
"Argentinians enjoy speaking Spanish but using words from other languages in the middle, for instance, we say: Vení a casa esta noche y nos tomamos unas birras. Most Argentinians don't have a clue that birra is beer in Italian, but as they think it's cool to say birra instead of cerveza, everybody calls the cold ones like that... now, I think (in my personal opinion) that mondo is taken from Italian and means world. About folbo, yes, I think you are right, it means football (fútbol), but many people says fulbo, fóbal and I guess folbo too... But I have never heard 'mondo folbo' in Argentina before, and I'm afraid it could be the name of a cable TV program or something else. If I had a bit more of the paragraph where 'mondo folbo' is written I would be able to help you."

: That's right, it's dialog between Argentinians, written in letter. both used the term, so it's correct, I guess. It's sound their traditional sport, looks like football. Anyway, thanks so much.

: if you read my note, you'll see I provided the same link as you did (alkon); it would be easier if--- askers always gave us context, when posting the question, not hours later. Dear Pina, I'm very angry I got the points: Please, ask for a moderator's help

Yes, I agree about the lack of context. // Don't worry about the points. This asker has no idea how to use Kudoz. I hope you do not leave Proz because of this. :-)

means "reveal the substance"
Considering asker's subtext (not "context"), it apparently means sarcastic criticism against the colonization by Europe, where football teams also join and fight nowadays.
post scriptum;
Sorry, for this asker.
And I think this place is not for criticize other like some people did against him, but place to help an asker. In this point, this topic has already closed among conflict beyond the purpose, that I suspect.
And I'm also sure you should be brave to confess "I don't know the answer" if you don't know. It's worse thing to pretend "I know of it" or "I can manage to search" than good effort in English of non-native speaker/asker.
mondo +something, means "reveal truth" of o (parodied things, football for example).
