I would never refer to myself as "I am Portlander". How silly does that sound? I am a Portlander. A Portlandian. A Portland woman. But never "I am Portlander", because we are not talking about a nationality.

Kennedy's grammar was absolutely perfect. The grammatical weirdness "Ich bin Berliner" might cost a German translator his or her job.
