Hello! I will really appreciate it if you could help me out:

I have Transit NXT, and .pxf file with reference materials.
I seek for the following outcome: word file with the source and target text.

What I do:
1. I pretranslate .pxf file, pack it and got .txf file.

Now the problem: I need this .txf file be .pxf file, so that MemoQ will be able to convert it as a bilingual text.

Will you plz help? Or may be there are other solutions

Transit -> MemoQ Mar 25, 2011

Hi,

Which Transit NXT Version do you have? Can you create an own project? If so, then simply define a new project and attach your reference language pairs (received earlier via your PXF) as language pair to translate (choose: files -> change filter setting to all files (*.*) and ONLY select the source language file (e.g. *.DEU for German).
Then you can pack this project and create a new PXF file for memoQ.

Anyway, I'm not so confirm with memoQ, can it import a TM

Anyway, I'm not so confirm with memoQ, can it import a TMX file? If so, this would be the easiest way to transfer your reference Material to MemoQ...

But if you can't create a own Transit NXT project (e.g. freelance edition) this is not possible. There is now way to convert a TXF to PXF, this are 2 different filetypes.

The only thing you can try is to manualy "prepare" your PXF file. You can do this by simply rename the PXF to ZIP and open it with a ZIP-compression tool. Then you can add your language files into this package, but beware of the correct filetype extension (e.g. DEU becomes GER). But then you also have to edit the project file (prj) otherwise Transit (or MemoQ) wouldn't recognize the "new" language files... I don't know exactly how the correct syntax would be, but it has to be like this:

[Files]
File1=1|1|1|0|1|C:\Translations\Texte.xls|Texte|Texte|0

Then save changed PRJ into ZIP and rename to PXF.

good luck!

regards,
Richwood

Hello KGM,
I don't see a reason why to pretranslate in Transit and then using MemoQ.
MemoQ is able to import transit projects, i.e. the files to be translated and the reference files included in the transit project. It creates an on the fly translation memory out of it, so you should get the same results when you pretranslate in MemoQ and ignore Transit completely
