Substitute for "Subtitle Edit"

I've been working with "Subtitle edit", but right now I've got plenty of job with subtitles which are not synchronized and this program is really unsuitable to work with these.

Could you recommend me something, either free or maybe not too expensive, since I'm a freelancer and don't want to spend a fortune on software.

I assume that you work on Windows platform, otherwise you would specify... so my recommendation about a Mac app is here only to complete the list: Film-subs Factory works great and it is free.
