You can contribute to The Arabic Dictionary Project in many way :
1. Translating a glossary in your field of specialization.
2. Providing us with a glossary you have already compiled.
3. If you have an untranslated glossary and you don’t have time to translate ,you can still contribute to this distinguished project by sending it to us .

totally agree,but?
Jul 3, 2003
You are right, but any such great project needs finace and devoted full-time translators, state support must be sought in order to harmonize the work, such projects (i think)cannot be accomplished by volunteers living in virtual forums,no matter how angry they feel to what Arabic-the Quran language-has stooped, i wish if such projects are at least announced in other media like mags or papers to gain the proper support.

Getting Things Clear.

Dear Naela, Thank you for your input which reflects your interest in the project and your care to see its success .
But let me get some things clear :
The greatest thing about this project is that it was initiated and is gaining momentum via the internet :the tool which is considered by many ,in the Arab World ,as a means of entertainment and passing time.
Really, a lot of translators joined and are joining this project not out of anger but due to their deep belief that their initiative and collaborative work will make a difference .So, they are devoted to making their own breakthrough ,but at the same time we can’t ask them to stop making their living .These devoted efforts are met by a welcome from many international organizations such as The ALESCO and The UNESCO which offered a kind of partnership with WATA.
As for publishing the dictionary , a lot of offers have been submitted but they are being studied carefully.
By the way, a lot of magazines and papers have written about The Arabic Dictionary and WATA .You can check the following link:
Question from someone wishing to learn Arabic for translation
Jul 18, 2003
I realise this is off topic for this thread, but I am wondering what demand their might be for Arabic-English translation by a native English speaker, and what suggestions Arabic speakers would have for learning written language. I see that most of the translators here are French to Arabic translators. I have a background and certification in French and have traveled in Morocco and Tunisia and have an interest in Arabic.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
