What translation project are you working on right now?
Just finished a financial apps report, English to BR Portuguese, 2964 words, for a global digital marketing company. Time for coffee! Last week, TH and I translated for two major European #banks, an int'l #environmental NGO, a #fairtrade #certification body, and an #IndigenousPeople project under the #WorldBank. We are starting this week with #translation projects approved for another int'l #NGO, a #commodities #trader, the same fair trade certification body from last week, a #NASDAQ-listed company that operates online #marketplaces dedicated to e-commerce and online auctions, and an online #marketing agency. Just had a great chat with a potential client. I gave them concrete examples of things Todd Harkin and I can do for them when translating their content. We talked about what makes them look professional and respectful of the target culture when writing on their blog, what adjustments can be made to their style guide, and how we should be partners in reviewing the final text. Just finished translating a medical article about asthma inhalers, Portuguese to English, 2837 words, for a top-tier university. Time for coffee! When working on a very big #translation, make sure you take breaks. Fatigue can make you miss things. Also, review your translation every x amount of words (I usually do that every 2,500 words) to make sure it's consistent and correct.
(edited) Just finished a financial market translation, English to Portuguese, 4387 words, for the 16th-largest banking institution in the world. Time for coffee! Just finished a military/defense translation. Time to double-check the technical terminology.
