Avian influenza (avian flu) is an infectious disease affecting birds. Its symptoms resemble the human influenza in terms of respiratory disorder, but in contrast to the human virus it can also affect the gastrointestinal tract. In chickens, the classic fowl pest may cause huge losses, especially in mass poultry farms. The influenza virus type A, as the infectious agent of avian flu, especially classic fowl pest, belongs to the genus of the orthomyxoviridae family. Influenza viruses B, C and D represent other genera, which are respective types of this virus family. Apart from afflicting birds, type A is also endemic in humans and other animal species; types B and C are mainly detected in humans. Influenza D virus is endemic only in mice. شهدت حقبتا الثمانينيات والتسعينيات اتساع دائرة التعامل فى الأصول المالية (من أسهم وسندات)، ومشتقاتها من عقول آجلة وعقود خيارات، على نحو ليس له مثيل من قبل. ودخلت مجموعة جديدة من المدخرين- صغارا من أبناء الطبقة الوسطى، وكبارا، مثل صناديق التأمينات والمعاشات- أسواق المال والبورصات العالمية المفتوحة على مصراعيها فى ظل العولمة فى البلدان المتقدمة وفى الأسواق الناشئة. وارتفعت كتلة الأموال والمدخرات 'بلا حدود' التى تتم المخاطرة بها والمضاربة بها فى أسواق المال، جريا وراء 'التكاثر المالي' المنفصم تماما عن عمليات التراكم الإنتاجى، والذى أصبح سمة مميزة للتطور الرأسمالى الحديث فى ظل صعود 'رأس المال المالي'، واتساع شبكة واسعة من شركات السمسرة والوساطة المالية، وصناديق الاستثمار والمخاطرة..

وفى ظل هذه 'السكرة المالية'، اندفعت أعداد وفئات من المدخرين ومن المضاربين المحترفين إلى دخول لعبة 'الحظ والمصادفة' فى أسواق المال العالمية. وعندما انهارت الأسواق المالية فى آسيا خلال صيف عام 1997، جاءت التحليلات من البلدان الرأسمالية المتقدمة لتلقى بالمسئولية على قلة الخبرة للمؤسسات المالية فى تلك البلدان، وضعف القطاع المالى هناك، وانعدام رقابة البنوك المركزية، والفساد، وغير ذلك من المسببات. وصدق البعض هذه التحليلات لفترة، وكأن الأزمة ليست 'أزمة النظام المالى الجديد' فى مجمله، الذى يعجز عن التأمين ضد مخاطر السوق المالية المتزايدة، وعدم كفاية رأس المال للشركات المالية وصناديق المخاطرة لتغطية مخاطر السوق غير المتوقعة.

ورغم هذا الضعف البنيوى لهياكل الأسواق المالية، ولاتساع دائرة المعاملات التى تتسم بارتفاع درجات المخاطرة والانكشاف، فقد ظل الشعار المطروح من شركات المال والسمسرة العالمية لكل العملاء: 'لا تخشوا شيئا فى المستقبل، إنكم تتعاملون مع أكبر شركات السمسرة المالية فى العالم، ولدينا خبراء يستطيعون مضاعفة أموالك خلال فترة وجيزة من الزمن، وأن كل المخاطر محسوبة بدقة ومغطاة بالكامل'.

Les années quatre-vingts et quatre-vingt-dix ont été le témoin d'une expansion sans précédent du cycle des transactions sur les actifs financiers constitués d'actions et d'obligations, ainsi que leurs produits dérivés tel les contrats à terme et d'options. La globalisation marquant à la fois les pays développés et les marchés émergents a donné naissance à un nouveau groupe de petits épargnants, issus de la classe moyenne, et de gros épargnants, comme les sociétés d'assurance et les fonds de pension. Ces petits et gros épargnants sont prêts à s'investir dans les marchés financiers et boursiers internationaux. Dans la course à la profusion des capitaux non liée à une augmentation du travail et de la productivité, l'augmentation importante (massive) de la libre circulation des capitaux au détriment du risque et de la spéculation sur les marchés financiers est devenu une caractéristique de la modernité capitaliste dans ce contexte de la montée du capital financier et du vaste développement du réseau de firmes de courtages et d'intermédiation financier et des caisses (de fonds) d'investissements et de risque.
L'ivresse financière a poussé un bon nombre d'épargnants et de spéculateurs professionnels d'entrer dans le jeu du hasard pour tenter leur chance sur les marchés financiers internationaux. Les pays capitalistes développés ont ainsi liés l'effondrement boursier en Asie au cours de l'été 1997 au manque d'expérience des institutions financières, la faiblesse du secteur, l'absence de système de contrôle dans les banques centrales; la corruption, etc. Pour un moment (à une époque), on a cru à la pertinence de cette analyse comme s'il n'était pas plutôt question du nouveau système financier dans son ensemble, qui est inapte (incapable) d'assurer contre les risques accroissants des marchés financiers et l'insuffisance des capitaux des firmes financiers et des caisses de risques pour couvrir les dérapages imprévus du marché.
Malgré les lacunes dans la structure des marchés financiers et l'élargissement du cercle de transaction (l'expansion des transactions comportant un haut degré de risques et de vulnérabilité, de degrés de risque et de vulnérabilité élevés), les firmes de courtage et les entreprises financières ont continués à lever le slogan: "Ne craignez rien dorénavant. Vous avez affaire avec le leader mondial de courtage. Avec nos experts, votre capitale va double (se multiplier) dans de bref délai (un court laps de temps). To make a living as a professional drag racer, success is a key ingredient to sustaining an extensive career on the quarter mile, and success is something Fuller has become quite familiar with over the past decade.
Fuller, who earned Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Arkansas, has been a fulltime NHRA competitor since 1994. The athletic racer has amassed 19 career NHRA national event victories, including six in Top Fuel. He also earned 30 NHRA Divisional victories in the Super Gas and Super Comp categories.
