ProZ.com powwow: Working as a freelance interpreter

June 11, 2006, 12:30 pm
United KingdomLondonIn personEnglish
*Thinking of Pitcher & Piano in Fulham - that way everyone can choose if they'd rather eat/drink/both - I'll enquire further*

Hi everyone, just to clarify, of course everyone is welcome, but the topic is "working as a freelance interpreter", so it will obviously be more useful to you if you are an interpreter. Don't want to exclude anyone, but there are plenty of Pow-wows for translators (pretty much every single one in fact!) and this one is specifically aimed at interpreters. :-)

**********************
Note added 2nd June: Hi guys, excellent, I'm really glad loads of you have signed up - was thinking of switching to the Pitcher and Piano in the centre of London. I'd be really grateful if people could confirm whether or not they'll be able to attend, that way I can confirm numbers for the pub. If there are only a few of us, I doubt we'll have to book a table, but we might if there are more of us!

**********************
Note added on 6th June: OK, I've booked a table for 6 people (provisionally) for 12.30pm on Sunday at the TRAFALGAR SQUARE P&P (40-42 William IV Street)
http://www.pitcherandpiano.com/locations/bar.cfm?area=Trafalgar

Soho and Mayfair branches are closed on Sundays but this one is open :-) We'll have a Proz sign up on the table. We've been promised an upstairs table if the upstairs is open - we'll have a 'Pow-Wow' sign on the table and my number is 07921 131 689. Look forward to seeing you all there!

Meeting place Jun 4, 2006

I went to another London powwow yesterday and there were several people interested in coming to yours. However, there seemed to be a strong preference for a location in central London rather than Fulhamicon_smile.gif

Please confirm attendance/preferred location Jun 4, 2006

Great, Central London sounds fine - is that good for everyone else? Which Pitcher and Piano, Mayfair or Soho? If everyone could let me know their preferences by Tuesday that's fine, and I'll choose the one most people have plumped for - thanksicon_smile.gif

I am not a Londoner but I'll be spending the whole weekend in London, so I really don't mind. Both places are find for me. Are partners allowed to come?

Hi to all of you! Katharina, David, Nicky and Inma could you give me your Proz.com ID numbers so I can register you all as having attended tomorrow?

To find out your ID:

4) go down to number 4 - What happens at Pow-wows and find the text in blue (your Proz.com ID - should be a 6 digit number).

That's all you need, I'll sort out a short report (including Tesco of course!) and photos and should be able to
