Are there any free subtitling tools for Mac users, where the settings allow to set up reading speed, characters per line limit, etc.? (I don't think a newbie should start with a paid version...) | | | Dalia Nour Egypt Local time: 08:58 Member (2018) English to Arabic + ... Subtitle edit & subtitle workshop | Aug 20, 2021 |
Hi Zoya, You can download those two programs for free and they work perfectly! You can download Subtitle Edit from here: https://subtitle-edit.ar.uptodown.com/windows (I hope this link work with Mac too)! ...I know, Subtitle Edit is for Windows only. There's Aegisub, of course but I'm not a great fan. There's another app for Mac called Subtitle Edit Pro. Very simple tool but it works. There's a one time fee thou like $30. You can also free trial Ooona's tools, Translate and Translate Pro. I love them. Then you can buy them weekly, whenever you need. If this is going to be your profession, I kindly suggest you work with the best possible tool you can afford, even though you're a newbie. Good luck<... I know this might not be the best advice, but you can run Windows programs through Wine. I'm sure you've seen some jobs that require you to use specific subtitling program, so you might have to comply with the requirements. With Wine, you don't really need to worry about OS compatibility. I myself mainly use Linux these days, and when I need to run Windows programs, I just execute them through Wine or Mono. More often than not, they work like they should. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Free subtitling tools for Mac users Protemos translation business management system | Create your account in minutes, and start working! 3-month trial for agencies, and free for freelancers!
