粗略地從22個專題中（非背景所說21個），選看了每一專題其中的一些詞條，認為是一項很認真的工作，對譯人有參考價值。特別對我這香港仔來說，倍感親切。翻譯是帶有濃厚的殖民地遺風，一些譯法是有別於現時中國大陸的常用習慣。回歸後，在翻譯方面，有沒有意圖或需要與祖國接軌呢，是一個值得商榷的問題。而每一個詞目，只有一個單一譯法，這是否意味著，不會或不能用官方認可以外的譯法呢？還是在公事上，政府部門間使用某些辭彙時，必須用這些統一的翻譯，而且民間又是否必須遵照無誤呢？或許，這些都是牛角尖的問題，希望正如背景中所說﹕（只）供各界人士參考（而已）。

個人認為現時香港還未完全接受/習慣國內的用語，很多人對國內的一些用語都感到陌生，因此翻譯時需考慮讀者市場而決定把源語譯成迎合國內、香港或台灣市場的中文。

翻譯工具只是供參考而已，翻譯員應具有充份的能力去選擇合適的辭彙。現今社會瞬息萬變，即使提供一詞多個譯法的辭典也未必能應付所有需要，翻譯員有時候也要融會貫通，推陳出新。
