Both my real (shortened)* name and my business name.

* Portuguese people tend to have very long full names

Fortunately my real name is very short.

I never considered not using my real name.

Yes-ish. It's my real name with some letters missing. Otherwise it'd be too long for my purposes.

This is me. I am an open book - this is what you get.

Mind you, pssst. I do have some 007 codenames so that I can translate incognito when I go on wet ops. Don't tell anyone!

sorta Jul 13, 2014

I prefer not to use my full name because I am opinionated, often for good reasons, and don't mind to share.

But the www does not forget so easily. Who knows when someone will feed words back at you years down the road to discredit you, try to drive you nuts, or who knows what other kind of BS.

Anyways, I don't think it helped much.

Speak your mind!

I've had some very stupid comments and disagrees on Kudos over the years that could reflect badly on me

Yes - it's good for business Jul 15, 2014

While many of us have business names for tax purposes, I believe that everyone, including both colleagues and clients, feels more at ease connecting with a real name (shortened is OK) and a real photo to match. It's human to want to do business with another human being, not an unidentifiable "username," and and not an avatar.
