und
YYYY (Rennfahrer) - nachfolgend Mieter genannt.

Discussion

Lancashireman Mar 19, 2012:
definition of 'pay driver' A pay driver is a driver for a professional auto racing team who, instead of being paid by their car owner, drives for free and brings with him either personal sponsorship or personal or family funding to finance the team's operations. This may be done to gain on-track experience or to live the lifestyle of a driver in a particular series when one's talent or credentials do not merit a paying ride. It is sometimes called a "ride buyer" or in sports car series a "gentleman driver".

Kirsten Bodart Mar 19, 2012:
Indeed or 'hereinafter the team' and 'hereinafter the driver'. I have come across a 1969 Chrystler racing contract which calls the driver 'operator', but there was no name for the corporation (all the obligations were, naturally, the driver's).
philgoddard Mar 19, 2012:
You could say XXXX (the team name) for Vermieter.

hirer / renter

Is there any reason it should be any different to an ordinary car-hire contract?
Note from asker:
Sowohl "hirer" als auch "renter" sind meines Wissens nach doppeldeutig und daher nicht die beste Option für einen Vertrag.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Edith Kelly : who is who then? And again, no reference whatsoever, makes it difficult to assess.

German term (edited): Vermieter(in) <-> Mieter eines Rennwagens

Licensor(s)/Owner(s) <-> Licensee/Hirer of a racing car

Licence (BrE)/license (AmE) is for a shorter-lived and more informal arrangement.

Licensors in the plural to reflect a collective team noun or aggregate of individuals.

Other permutations and combinations:

1. owner (even if down the chain of title) & hirer - if there is legal doubt about the tenure, then it's OK to add an alternative after the forward slash cf. claimant/ applicant vs. defendant/ respondent of an Eng. injunction
2. distributor (usually for cinema/movie films) & hirer
3. lessor & lessee - already suggested
4. lender & borrower

NOT lessor vs. hirer, as one misguided US corporate client mixed metaphors over, nor therefore owner vs. lessee.
