Terima kasih kepada rakan2 yang menjawab pertanyaan saya. Dalam konteks ini saya rasa 'penapai' adalah yang paling tepat.

100% purest natural Noni fruit leaven ... = penapai buah Noni asli tulen/sejati 100% ...

suggestion based on the following rationale:

- basically, to leaven is to produce fermentation or to cause something to puff up using a fermenting agent.

- since the context seems to be about fruit juice, "penapai" is probably the appropriate translation. this is the term used in vinegar and wine making.

- if the context is bread-making, then "penaik" or "agen penaik" is probably the term to use

thanks, nasima. agree to 'bahan penaik'.
agree Naim Jalil : or 'ragi'? i also found 'kamir' in dbp for ragi or penaik, but i'm not sure, which part of malay kingdom use that term for fermentation.

thanks, naim. however, since 'ragi' is a PARTICULAR type of yeasting agent (made fr rice), not sure if it' wld be accurate for the generic sense required here, as this leaven may be of another material.
