From a description of a traditional farmhouse. The paint in this case is red, the familiar "Falu rödfärg", seen on barns and houses throughout rural Sweden. The red pigment comes from the discarded materials of the copper mine in Falun, but "slamfärg" in a more general sense is made from water, rye flour and pigment.

I think this is what I'd use - or possibly "red earth paint", in your case, as this is a traditional paint made using the recipe you describe.
