Although if given the choice, I'd probably prefer a more plain-speaking version like Roberts "learning materials" (apparently it's no longer the done thing to call them "teaching materials"), the term "learning object" has been around for just over twenty years.
I dislike having to use this kind of newfangled term when translating educational/sociological texts, but as they say, "the customer is always right"... :)
