: Except you do not refer to a place as an "asshole". An asshole is a person. A place is a shithole, except neither fits very well here. Syria may be that kind of a place all right, but this has nothing to do with logistics.

: Never heard a place called that. Then again, I have never heard of Marillion or what's its name either.

I don't think this refers to a place, it refers to a screwed up situation. Fugazi (as per my link) came from 'Nam.
