I must say that the word "taselado" doesn't exist in the RAE dictionary (Real Academia de la Lengua), but I have seen a pdf file about the "taseles" translated as seams.... so, taselado should be seamed...

Me llaman mucho la atención las palabras inventadas. Probablemente sea una derivación de teselar, pero con teselas mucho más grandes y por eso las llaman taselas.

The translation difficulty here arises probably from a typo in the source, because the right expression is IMO “teselado” from the Spanish verb “teselar” (not available in the RAE dictionary), not “taselado”, which I deem wrong, and this verb is derived from “tessera” (or “tesella”, diminutive) (Spanish: tesela), a purely Latin word with the meaning of small tile or piece of a mosaic.

As one of the links underneath explains, “tessellated” is the same as “chequered/reticulated”, which means that the plaster of your Argentine artist has a reticulated structure.

Teselaciones
Teselar es recubrir una superficie con figuras regulares e irregulares. Al teselar un plano, entre las figuras, no quedan espacios y tampoco se superponen.
Los cubrimientos realizados con baldosas, cerámicos, pastelones, azulejos, tejas en pisos, muros y techos son las más comunes teselaciones que se encuentran en la realidad.
Para teselar un plano, los polígonos se deben someter a rotación, traslación y simetría.
Teselación Regular
