When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Cinnamon This person is not a translator , he/she is a student, still that doesn't exempt him/her from being courteous. The suggestions for changes can probably go into de ideas, the link is a bulb on the top right hand side of the screen.

@Cinnamon Do you know if there is such a "Suggestions for changes" forum? Kudoz rules state that questions should be graded and closed within 5 days. This asker has questions open dating to April...! What a total lack of professional courtesy!

Note to Monitor sent I've sent a note to a Monitor. It's the height of inconsideration on the part of the asker not even to respond to any of the discussion entries or indicate what answer was chosen.
It would be good to enter our opinions in a "Suggestions for changes" forum. I'm sure there are many of us who get irritated by such conduct.

franglish Apparently there are quite a few people like this, I have seen other people complaining about it so I have the impression there isn't a way to tackle this, how do you define abusive? Perhaps people who have more than x questions open and/or for longer than x weeks shold not be allowed to ask questions, but how to police that? The best thing would be not to answer the question but then there should be an easy way to identify people like this, because always someone ends up giving them answers...

agree Sarah Weston : absolutely, but I don't see why the poetry/literature questions are so often classified as non-pro, when it often takes far more understanding of the two languages to answer the question. I vote pro.

I think this conveys better the idea of hopelessly waiting for something more than the kettle...

He who waits ends up losing his patience

I know that most bilingual dictionaries on 'sayings" or "refranes" give "The watched pot never boils" as the equivalent here, but I don't really agree. For me, "The watched pot..." indicates precisely that you should NOT become desperate (think of/do something else to distract yourself), or what you are waiting for will never come/will seem to take forever. So there is an element of advice that is not in the Spanish version.

A few dictionaries list this alternative or Claudia's.
