"We thought the album turned out a mess. We recorded it pretty much in one go in somebody’s living room. At the time we were gutted when we heard the finished thing, because we went in there intending to sound like Thin Lizzy but what we got was a bag of nails. We never saw the album cover until we got the finished thing. Then everyone started buying it all over the world and saying how much they loved the sound. We got huge piles of fan mail. It was bizarre."
