My name is Katrien Van den Broeck and I offer freelance translation services through Firefinch LLC. I’m a Dutch native speaker, born and raised in Belgium. I moved to the USA in 2008. I hold a Master’s degree in Industrial Science, Chemical Engineering with specialization in Process-Technology. In Belgium I always worked in bilingual work environments - initially as a Development Engineer in the Research and Development department of a chemical company with headquarters in the United States. And afterwards as a project engineer for an engineering consultancy and project management firm. Throughout my professional career using multiple languages and translating from Dutch to English (and vice versa) has been an almost daily occurrence.

I provide translations on a freelance basis and work in the following language pairs:
• English to Dutch
• Dutch to English

I’m interested in translating a wide variety of topics since I’m always keen to learn new things and to broaden my horizon. With my background in Chemical Engineering, I specialize in technical translations related to the Chemical industry and related to the Environmental Health and Safety Regulations.
