This is part of an employment contract in Belgium:

"Dans le cadre de notre gestion des carrières, vous bénéficiez d'une **ancienneté fictive** de [XX] mois. Toutefois, il est convenu qu'en cas de rupture future du contrat en dehors de la période d'essai, l'ancienneté contractuelle prise en considération remontera au [dd/mm/yy], date de votre première entrée."


The period of [XX] months is significantly greater than the period since [dd/mm/yy].

Do you think "ancienneté fictive" is the same as 'notional years'? Or should I stick to something more literal like 'a fictitious seniority period'?
