chips Explanation: It may refer to aluminum chips, rather than aluminum sheets or other processed form, which you can count piece by piece (like 2 sheets). Well, chips can be counted piece by piece but I think they are usually counted by weight. |

non-porous, solid Explanation: I agree with Tony's comments. so bulk samples are samples done with bulk/solid pure aluminum, or bulk/solid aluminum 6061 alloy as opposed to foam samples done with "foam made from bulk aluminum 6101 alloy". which are porous, so fluid can pass through quite easily |
