http://user.12530.com/new12530/?m=order&type=crbt&id=006sww

http://www.56.com/u29/v_MTQ1MDU0OTg.html

Nessun Dorma Jun 16, 2007

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VATmgtmR5o4

Nessun dorma!
Nessun dorma!
Tu pure, o Principessa,
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò,
quando la luce splenderà…
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà
il silenzio che ti fa mia.

Il nome suo nessun saprà…
E noi dovrem, ahimè, morir, morir!

Dilegua, o notte!
Tramontate, stelle!
All'alba vincerò!
Vincerò!
Vincerò!

Nobody sleeps.
Nobody sleeps.
You too, princess,
in thy cold room, watching the stars,
trembling with love and hope
But my mistery's sealed in me,
nobody'll know my name.
No, no, over thy lips I'll tell it,
when daylight will arise
And the kiss will solve the silence
which make thou mine

Nobody'll know his name.
And we must die, ay, die!

Vanish, o night,
set down stars
At dawn I'll win,
I'll win,
I'll win.

"A Time For Us" (Love Theme From Romeo and Juliet)

Facts:
- peak Billboard position # 96 in 1969
- competing instrumental version by Henry Mancini charted at # 1
- from the 1968 film produced by Franco Zeffirelli and starring Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey
- Words by Larry Kusik and Eddie Snyder and Music by Nino Rota

A time for us, some day there'll be
When chains are torn by courage born of a love that's free
A time when dreams so long denied can flourish
As we unveil the love we now must hide
A time for us, at last to see
A life worthwhile for you and me

And with our love, through tears and thorns
We will endure as we pass surely through every storm
A time for us, some day there'll be a new world
A world of shining hope for you and me

For you and me

And with our love, through tears and thorns
We will endure as we pass surely through every storm
A time for us, some day there'll be a new world
A world of shining hope for you and me

A world of shining hope for you and me

Can you feel the love tonight (Elton John)

There's a calm surrender
To the rush of day
When the heat of a rolling world
Can be turned away
An enchanted moment
And it sees me through
It's enough for this restless warrior
Just to be with you

And can you feel the love tonight?
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we got this far
And can you feel the love tonight
How it's laid to rest?
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best

There's a time for everyone
If they only learn
That the twisting kaleidoscope
Moves us all in turn
There's a rhyme and reason
To the wild outdoors
When the heart of this star-crossed voyager
Beats in time with yours

And can you feel the love tonight?
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we got this far
And can you feel the love tonight
How it's laid to rest?
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best

It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best

Jun 17, 2007

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPm5X_7ZcgA

Oh, my papa, to me he was so wonderful
Oh, my papa, to me he was so good
No one could be, so gentle and so lovable
Oh, my papa, he always understood.

Gone are the days
when he could take me on his knee
And with a smile
he'd change my tears to laughter

Oh, my papa, so funny, so adorable
Always the clown so funny in his way

Oh, my papa, to me he was so wonderful
Deep in my heart I miss him so today.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=vhQ5rkBiw9I

¡Qué tal, mi amor!
¡Qué sopresa la de encontrarte!
¿Como te va?
Hace tiempo que deseaba hablarte.
Quería saber algo de tí
y sin querer estás aquí.
¡Ven junto a mí, ven!
¡Ven junto a mí, ven aquí!

Cierra los ojos y juntos recordemos
tú enamorada, yo enamorado.
Cuando el invierno era nuestra primavera.
Cuando reías y también llorabas.
¡Cómo te amaba, cómo me amabas!

¡Qué tal,mi amor,!
Dime, ¿Quién besa hoy tus tiernos lábios?
Dime, ¿Quien con cariño mata tu tristeza?
Quería saber algo de tí
y sin querer estás aquí.
¡Ven junto a mí, ven!
¡Ven junto a mí, ven aquí!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkuLh4u0H8E&mode=related&search=

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT9e1yzkL7c&mode=related&search=

Me quieren agitar, me incitan a gritar,

Es mi situación, una desolación,
一旦開唱便永無休止 que un dia empezo, y no va a terminar
但不傷害任何人 y a nadie hace daño

Ohhhh yo yoo yoooo
EEeeeeee Eeeeeeee

Y yo estoy aquí, borracho y loco
寶貝呀、莫在床上梳髮 nena no te peines en la cama,

Ohhhh yo yoo yoooo
EEeeeeee Eeeeeeee

Words from the heart Jun 17, 2007

Wenjer Leuschel wrote:

Wenjer,

I'm glad you enjoyed father's day by talking to your loved ones.

I read the article you provided a link to in the other folder -- the one about people trying to get rich at all cost nowadays, even at the expense of values. That made me want to spend some time and transcribe some of the down-to-earth words from these YouTube clips ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aPVmvAflW0

Hello, YouTubers. Well, um apparently on Sunday in the UK here is a day called father's day, where I suppose we are all reminded to give some thought to our fathers. Um, but I think it might give me a chance to talk about family relationships from a grandfather's point of view, or at least from my point of view.

And, in the western world we all try to lead quite independent lives. Um, we bring up our children to ... well imbue them with all the qualities that we think are right, and honest, and decent, and to make them rounded individuals, and to encourage them to be independent. If we didn't I suppose life can't go on. I suppose in most countries, or in this country anyway, there might be some families who do all live together, and they have a very close relationship with their parents and grandparents. But by and large, I think it's the fact that we do lead independent lives. And families are bringing up children -- that is the whole of their life. They have to support themselves with their work and provide for the children, right up until quite a late age these days. And it's a very busy life, so they themselves haven't got time to give all the attention to their parents. And it isn't the same in all countries, but it is in our country.

And many people write to me who's seeing me here on YouTube, um, think of me, um well as a granddad, I suppose. Maybe they've lost their own grandparents or they live miles and miles away and they don't have a relationship with them, uh which you know, which is sad. But reading between the lines, I sometimes sense that they feel guilty about this. Well, you need not feel guilty for the reasons that I have explained, um or at least the opinions I've put forward.

Um, as a grandparent we sit back and we observe. And, as our children grow up and they have their own children have grown up, and possibly they might have more time to give attention to granddad. And that of course is very nice. So I hope maybe on father's day ... that could be a time when um you could give dad just a little bit special attention somehow. So, uh, I can't think of any other wise words of wisdom. But um I think that's how granddads see life. And we are proud of our children and our grandchildren. And our job is to make sure that they are happy in their lives.

So, I just found out that I can operate this optical mouse on my knee, so I don't have to lean forward to say goodbye, which is what I'll do now. And hope to see you all again very soon. Goodbye.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-c_wgKAs-8

My father was a very remarkable person. Uh ... He came to America from Russia, as a small child. And he loved America. There was no place else he wanted to be. He didn't want to go back to Russia to see where he came from. He loved everything that America stood for. And it's very inspirational at a time when we're all, I think, disillusioned with what America has become, or many of us are anyway.

Thank you! Jun 18, 2007

Hi, Steve,

I like these two clips. They are adorable. I would like to be like the old gentleman in the first clip. Maybe it's a cultural thing that people express themselves so different in the USA than in Asia. However, I have sensed a lot of changes in that direction in Taiwan.

You see, my father was in the half of his life a Japanese for he was educated that way and in the other half he tried to be a Chinese without much success. Shortly before his death, he told me that he found his identity finally. He told me that he envied me for I could find my own identity early in my life. That was around the end of 1989 when I came back to take fairwell to my mother who died 6 days before Christmas. And my father died 24 days later. I miss him very much. I always remember the day when I walked with him near the lake in Eagle Heights, Madison, Wisconsin. The dialogue between us two is brandmarked in my heart forever. I am grateful to him for letting go of me, so I could be what I am, a citizen of the globe. But, honestly, I am much more grateful to my mother who let go of me since I was a kid, because she noticed that I was too different from all my sisters and brothers. It took my father 25 years to understand why I must go.

Well, my two daughters are quite funny. They like to joke with me. When I called them, the eldest was on the phone and started to talk like machine gun in Spanish. I couldn't catch up her words and then she switched over to German to tell me that she was just testing my Spanish. The younger one spoke less German, but she made fun with me in slow Spanish. They are all happy that we are going to meet next year in Europe. Um, I need to work harder to realize all the plans. I am glad that they have been living freely and developped sound characters, with self-confidence and a good sense of humor. They are in their teens and trouble ahead, the mother says. But somehow I know that they will have it easier than me for they are used to free expression, not like me in my childhood and teens. It's a cultural thing, I guess.

Thank you for the links. I appreciate them very much.

Here is another cultural thing, music. You don't have to know what is said and what is sung. It's just nice, unusual for Asian culture. I hope you enjoy it.
